Details

This year, lockage on the Trent Severn is free, so, to take advantage if this, and to facilitate the several people who lack a Kayak, the plan is to Launch Kayaks from the Peterborough Canoe Museum. From there, it is a short paddle to the lift lock, and the lift lock is a short paddle from the wetland area near Trenr University.

So, I’m addition to quality time on the water in our kayaks, we get the thrill of ascending (and later) descending the lift lock.

Please note, the paddle to the lift lock, and from there up to Parkhill (from where we typically would launch from) adds distance/Time to trip.

In addition to ample hydration, bring a snack to maintain energy levels.

(Wear sunscreen, a wide brimmed hat and sunglasses)
(The reflected rays of the sun off the surface of the water is too often overlooked by people unfamiliar with paddling.

Note, anyone opting to rent a canoe must be proficient in Sterning the boat.
