Civic Hack Night: Unlandmarks Map

For the next six months, Code for Pittsburgh will be building a map of landmarks that aren't there anymore. It'll give driving directions, too. We'll be doing this as a collaborative project, and learning as we go along.

We'll have some initial data collected by the time of this Civic Hack Night, and we'll spend the night pouring through the collected data, taking a look at it & building out the map that will be needed to display it. There will be structured learning activities for all skill levels - no coding required!

We'll be:

1. Finalizing the data format which will underlie the map points

2. Processing the initial nominated unlandmarks

3. Prototyping graphic design ideas for the initial map

4. Designing a logo for the project

5. Creating ways by which large sets of unlandmarks can be submitted all at once

6. Identifying neighborhoods which have been historically marginalized, and whose history is in danger of never being preserved.
