National Day of Civic Hacking

Details
Join us on August 16 as we celebrate National Day of Civic Hacking – a nationwide day of action that brings together civic leaders, designers, coders, and data scientists to partner with local governments and tackle some our toughest challenges.
We'll be working on mapping projects for the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team, which crowdsources webmapping services for disaster response and communities in need! This helps disaster response agencies better plan their efforts and get supplies where they are needed. Project areas include the floods in Japan and Sri Lanka, services for refugee camps in Uganda, and many more.
All experience levels are welcomed! We'll provide training and be on hand to help you map and validate information. As a first step, set up an OpenStreetMap account at https://www.openstreetmap.org/user/new
Food & drinks provided. Don't forget to bring your laptop! See you there!
