Understanding Azure Resource Manager (ARM)
We will discuss an introduction to the ARM layer of Azure and how we interact with non-classic Azure resources. We will touch on resource containers, management scopes, how to approach limits and throttling, and the Azure Control Plane vs Data Plane.
We will discuss deployments through ARM Templates, Bicep, and Terraform. We will also peek at the new [preview] product, the Azure Developer CLI (AZD). These will not be in depth tutorials due to time, but a starting point with where to go next if you want to learn more.
We will also touch on management methods through the Azure Portal, Azure CLI, Azure PowerShell (Az module) and finally the common API layer shared by all management and deployment methods and how to troubleshoot failures.
The goal is to give every attendee a great launching point for understanding how we interact with Azure on a day-to-day basis through ARM.
