Welcome! We're pleased you've chosen to join Non-Boring Books & Beyond in the Burgh, aka N4B.

Originally an in-person group, we transitioned to online during the pandemic. We found people like the convenience of meeting online. We also added some members who aren't local and can't attend in-person. To accommodate everyone, we've gone to a combination of online and in-person Meetups. We have two online meetings each month, detailed below. In-person meetings are scheduled when someone has a specific book they'd like the group to read.

Bring Your Own Book (BYOB) on the last Monday of each month:
For these we choose a theme, two months ahead to give you plenty of reading time! Each person brings a book related to the theme. Our definition of "related" tends to be very loose - anything you can justify is fair game.

Readers' Happy Hour on the Wednesday closest to the middle of the month:
Our readers' free for all. We discuss what we're reading, what we'd like to read, books we loved and books we hated. It's always a lively discussion and a great place to get new book recommendations.

In-person meetings are scheduled as needed and feature a single book that we all read, much like a standard book club. Anyone can recommend a book; if there's enough interest we'll plan a Meetup. These are held in the evening at a local restaurant, ideally related to the book's theme.

We also hold an annual Book Swap where you can find a home for your old books and take away something new.
