SPEAKER BIO
After over a decade working in marketing and business development, including a 12-year stint in corporate America with a Fortune 500 healthcare company, Mary now uses the sales skills that she acquired to help social workers in leadership to sell and market their services and professional strengths. Connection is a priority to Mary, and collaborating with workers in this capacity has the greater purpose of showcasing the skills that are possessed by those that undertake the noble profession of social work.
Mary received a Bachelor’s of Social Work from Tennessee State University, a Master’s in Public Administration also from Tennessee State University, and a Master’s in Social Work (with a concentration in mental health and trauma) from the University of Denver.
A lifelong learner, she has also received training in Healthcare Administration and Planning, Human Resources and Services, Small Business Marketing, and Career Coaching. She holds membership with the Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Coaches and is a Certified Professional Resume Writer and Virginia Certified Career Coach.
In her leisure time Mary enjoys cooking, CrossFit, walks with her dog Huey, and reading.
