What we’re about
Philadelphia Cohousing is a group for those interested in living in or supporting cohousing communities in the greater Philadelphia area. Currently temporarily hosted by Cohousing Coaches Betsy Morris and Raines Cohen, as placeholders for local leadership to step up again.
This space was sponsored by Wissahickon Village Cohousing (WVC) in NW Philadelphia but we welcome and want to promote all Philadelphia area cohousing groups including K'House in the Philadelphia Kensington neighborhood and Altair Cohousing in Kimberton (just outside of Phoenixville), PA
WVC is a group of community-oriented people of diverse ages and family configurations who have been together since 2010 with the goal of forming a cohousing community in Northwest Philadelphia. We share a desire to live more ecologically, economically, and in closer connection with our neighbors.

Virtually join a live talk from a Washington, DC cohousing neighborhood this evening for a conversation with Rhaina Cohen, author of The Other Significant Others:Reimagining Life with Friendship at the Center. Enjoy a discussion of how life can be different when you know your neighbors.
(Note corrected time: 7 eastern, 4 pacific)
The Other Significant Others tells the stories of people who make a friendship the central relationship in their lives—owning homes together, raising kids together, or caring for each other for decades. Like romantic couples, these friends form a “we.” At a time of declining marriage rates and a loneliness epidemic, these friends help us imagine alternative models for a fulfilling life and ask us to rethink which relationships matter most.
