Monthly meeting

APRIL 24 TH MEETING Let’s dip a little into Japanese bead embroidery! You may have seen and loved the intricate beaded purses and accessories in this technique. This is done by starting with a printed fabric, and stitching beads onto the surface following the print. This is a tiny piece to try; the bee is printed on the fabric, and we will follow that print to lay different beads on the surface. It’s fun! Afterwards, we will mount the piece on a covered button form, snap it onto the back with some magnets, and VOILA, we will have
a needle minder! Email Patty Smith Gardner at pasg@comcast.net ASAP to reserve your kit! She will bring kits to the March 2025 meeting and you can pay for it there, or Venmo Patty. Kits will be $10 and will include all needed materials to complete the needle minder:
• 3” hoop.
• Printed fabric
• Button form with magnets
• Beads
• threads
YOU NEED TO BRING
• Embroidery scissors
• a bead mat
• some beading needles
• Fabric scissors
