The Association of Philadelphia Tour Guides (APT) has arranged a Victorian Christmas visit to the Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion (200 W. Tulpehocken Street, Philadelphia, PA 19144) on Friday December 5 at 12 pm.

Surrounded by lavish gardens that reveal the minds of people living in a world of industrialization and social change, the mansion has been painstakingly restored to reveal the thoughts and minds of Philadelphia’s rising middle class in the period from the 1860’s to the 1910’s. Learn about the lives of the people who lived here, upstairs and downstairs.

Come see the mansion decorated with authentic Victorian holiday trimmings. Hear about the invention of ideas like giving gifts, special foods, and literature that celebrated Old St. Nick and the more modern idea of Santa Clause. Admission is free, but you must RSVP. Questions? Please email Marianne Ruane at [president@phillyguides.org](mailto:president@phillyguides.org).
