Our May IoT Meetup will feature Jenny Fielding, the Managing Director of Techstars NYC IoT accelerator, and Rick Bullotta, the Managing Partner at NextBigThing, who was previously the cofounder and CTO of IoT-centric Thingworx here in the Philly area.

Jenny and Rick will discuss what it takes to invest in and develop IoT startups in the current climate and specifically in the New York and Philly areas. Really looking forward to hearing what they have to say.

Speaker Bios:

Jenny is a Managing Director at Techstars, where she leads both the FinTech and Internet of Things Accelerators in NYC. Prior to joining Techstars, Jenny headed up a corporate venture and digital innovation group at BBC Worldwide where she made strategic investments and led business development deals. She has also started several companies, most notably Switch-Mobile, a mobile VoIP company that was acquired. Jenny began her career as a lawyer and also spent some time in banking at JP Morgan. Rick Bullotta is the Managing Partner at NextBigThing, a strategic advisory and investing firm, where he works closely with startup innovators. Rick as previously the Co-Founder and CTO of ThingWorx, providers of an innovative application software platform for the “internet of things.” ThingWorx was acquired by PTC in 2013. Rick was also the Co-Founder and CTO of Lighthammer Software Development (acquired by SAP in 2005), where he was responsible for the conceptualization and development of innovative Web-based and service-enabled software products targeted at the manufacturing industry – a.k.a. the “Intranets of Things”. He has also participated in and contributed to a number of industry standards organizations and open source software projects.
