Philly IoT Meetup - Philadelphia Smart City Initiative with Ellen Hwang

As we discussed last month, Philadelphia is pushing to make itself into a smart city, and its application to the Smart Cities Council for a Readiness Grant was, in fact, accepted by the council (https://beta.phila.gov/press-releases/mayor/philadelphia-awarded-smart-cities-council-readiness-challenge-grant/)! This means we were one of five cities chosen and that we will be hosting a smart city conference in Philly later this year to kickstart and educate the smart city community and efforts.

At this month’s meetup, we will be having Ellen Hwang, the city’s Program Manager for Innovation Management, in the Office of Innovation and Technology, who is the program manager for the Smart City initiatives, speak about Philadelphia’s efforts to become a smart city, including the city’s previous smart city RFI, the new readiness grant, what is coming in the new RFP and more!

This should be an amazing discussion, and we know you are all jazzed to dive right in!
