Andreas Welsch is an internationally recognized Al leader, advisor, trusted voice, and speaker known for helping the world's leading enterprises turn technology hype into business outcomes. He is the Founder and Chief Al Strategist at Intelligence Briefing and the bestselling author of the Al Leadership Handbook.
The pressure on leaders to incorporate AI into their business has never been higher. Despite their best efforts, 85 percent of AI projects fail. But that is rarely just because of technology. Between unrealistic expectations of what AI can do, isolated science projects turned into money pits, and employees looking for clarity on how AI influences their jobs, learning how to successfully introduce AI into your organization can be difficult. Getting it right on the second or third attempt is not an option. In order for your AI program to be successful, you need to be aware of all the facets involved, not just the technology—a daunting task. Spanning strategy, stakeholder management, collaboration, culture, ethics, data privacy, risk management, and technology, Andreas covers everything you need to know to become a confident and successful AI leader—and get it right on the first try.
Peter Aiken's talk, "AI: Handle with Care" will apply an important lesson from the DAMA DMBOK(tm) -- wedges are more powerful when applied in concert, than individually. This talk will focus on a number of scenarios where data leadership activities can be enhanced via AI based tools.
A most important lesson when applying the DAMA DMBOK™️ is that the wedges are more powerful when applied in concert as opposed to individually. This class will discuss the specific impact of AI on the wedges (yes, I know DG isn’t really a wedge and leadership/monetization is not yet part of the DM BoK).
When focusing on DG, AI’s primary impact is on gathering, filtering, and analyzing information relevant to various DG decisions. (DG can be best defined as “managing data decisions with guidance.”) It is best to completely transform our thinking on DG from that of a blank page to one of tailoring to create a bespoke solution for our organization. In short, anyone not using AI to focus their DG efforts is wasting valuable organizational resources on the wrong type of work. When approaching the topic of data monetization, AI must be seen as a primary source of monetization fuel. (Garbage in → garbage out.) AI (in the form of machine learning) is one of the best data monetization tools to be found. It can simultaneously be a quality diagnostic tool and a ‘flashlight’ focusing attention on existing (or even dark) data. This can dramatically change the profitability equation for most organizations.
Finally, when examining the topic of data leadership, it is good to keep in mind the recurring phrase “Your job will not be taken by AI, your job will be taken by someone who knows how to use AI better than you.” The sooner you begin to use various AI capabilities, the more effective will be your data leadership. This class will present a number of scenarios where data leadership activities can be enhanced using various forms of AI.
Anastasia Rava will share how Quanam's data governance practices have matured, shaping services and methodologies, cultural paradigm shifts, and community building power in driving change.
We have always recognized the critical importance of data, but our journey has been one of continuous evolution. In this talk, we will share how our data governance practices have matured, shaping our services and methodologies. We will reflect on key lessons learned, including the realization that while many initiatives can be proposed, only those that truly add value will succeed. We will explore the cultural paradigm shifts necessary for effective governance, methodologies' role, and community building's power in driving change. Through real-world experiences, we will highlight what has worked, what hasn’t, and how these insights have shaped our approach.
