Philanthropicode: Build Night – Shaping the Poll App Together
Details
We’re hosting a make-up build night this Thursday (6:30–8:30 PM EDT) — a chance to get hands-on with the Philanthropicode Poll app and help shape where it goes next.
What's happening
We’ll review the results of our member poll and start building the features that rise to the top. Options on the table include:
- Smarter quadratic sliders with budgets and live balances
- Heatmaps to show how aligned you are with nearby communities
- Poll comments & collaborator roles for richer engagement
- And more ideas proposed directly by members!
👉 Cast your vote (closes Wednesday night):

What to expect
- A quick walkthrough of the current poll app
- Small-group collaboration on whichever features win
- Space to propose your own improvements and get feedback
- Networking with other civic-minded builders
Who should come
Developers, designers, data scientists, product thinkers, civic hackers — or anyone curious about how technology can support more meaningful civic participation. All skill levels welcome.
Why it matters
This is more than just building features — it’s about shaping tools that communities could one day use for representation, civic engagement, and decision-making. By joining, you’ll get hands-on practice, resume-worthy contributions, and a chance to be part of a growing civic-tech experiment.
Bring your laptop, your ideas, and your curiosity. We’ll provide the project, the poll, and a space to build.
