Details

This will be our first meet-up so it will be mainly to meet and get to know each other better. We will also be talking about Elixir and discuss what sort of activities we'd be doing.

For those unfamiliar with Elixir, below are some key points on why you might want to learn it:

  • built on top of the Erlang VM which gives access to OTP (makes it easy to build robust concurrent applications)

  • is highly expressive and performant (Elixir code is typically faster or just as fast as Erlang code)

  • is homoiconic and gives you a powerful Lisp-style Macro system that is relatively the least intimidating

If the above things didn't make sense but are intriguing to you, there's even more reason to go. ;D
