With the crisp autumn air upon us, thoughts now turn to pumpkin ales, homemade soup and of course, WordPress. Our November lineup is still being finalized, but in the mean time those new to our group can check out what we're all about.

We'll follow our format of two short (5 minutes) presentations, followed by a single longer one (20 minutes or longer). The longer presentation will serve as the basis for and introduction to a wider, open discussion among the group.

This month our main presenter is a Ngaire Ackerley, a London-based, New Zealander who spends just about every day knee deep in WordPress. She's a designer and front-end developer. Ngaire will be talking about how to bridge the gap between designing and developing within the WordPress environment.

Regarding the discussion about testing different sign up forms: I happened across this Conditional Themes plugin (http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-conditional-themes/). Don't know if that will help but thought I'd post it in case.

Great info! I like the presentation as it was about what and how to design a site for usability and UI. good stuff to understand and see what works.

Some of the 'limitations' are important to take note of. The issue with 'images cached forever' is not a super huge deal in most cases, but if a client is a copyright control freak, it's important to let them know.

For parking near Ryan's, the garage on Market Street between New Street and Darlington Street (http://goo.gl/maps/cy6VZ) is pretty close. The Mosteller Garage at Walnut and Chestnut is also a reasonable walk to Ryan's. Both garages are free if you stay until a certain time in the evening (I forget what time exactly, but when I leave the meetup it's usually late enough, so just hang out until I leave!). Just take a ticket at the booth, and the gates will be open and vacant when it's time to go.
