Details

Join fellow hardware entrepreneurs, engineers, and innovators at our first Hardware Meetup in Philadelphia!

If you can't attend in-person, we'll be livestreaming on Zoom! Join the event here at 5pm.

We're very excited to be meeting at NextFab, a membership-based makerspace at the heart of Philly's hardware community that provides tools, technology, education, events, and services for makers of any skill level. Nextfab offers a variety of education and startup programs, as well as professional design, production, and placemaking services.

Shout out to our sponsor informal for hooking us up with food and drinks this evening. informal is a freelance collective for the most talented people in hardware and hardtech. With over 200 members throughout the US and around the world specializing in physical product development and commercialization, and a global network of vendors for everything from injection molding to warehousing, informal matches companies big and small building physical products with the resources they need to start, launch, and scale.

Here's a rough agenda for the evening:

5:00pm: Arrive, mingle, and grab a bite to eat. We'll have dinner and drinks.

5:30pm: Opening remarks

Starting with products designed to help patients suffering from an adrenal crisis, SOLUtion Medical’s safe injection platform has applications in other scenarios, including administering antipsychotic drugs, in vitro fertilization, delivery of monoclonal antibodies, and cancer treatments.

6:15pm: James Brodovsky, co-founder and CEO of Tergeo Technologies
Tergeo Tech builds semi-autonomous easily customized modular robots that help with every day problems. The first problem Tergeo Tech is tackling is litter and urban sanitation with a semi-autonomous sweeping cobot. James’ will give a talk titled ‘Just Ask’ about the many the fears and obstacles founders, especially hardware founders, face and how they can overcome them by just asking the question.

6:45pm: Thomas Castner, co-founder and CEO of FlashPCB
FlashPCB provides super fast PCB assembly services right in the heart of Philly. Based out of NextFab, FlashPCB offers quick, efficient, and reliable prototyping capabilities for local hardware companies though their dedicated team and easy to use CAD upload and quoting tool that uses automated design rule checks to minimize errors.

7:15pm: Community Announcements
Anyone in attendance can get up on the mic and share their own 30 second pitch, announcement, or call for help (because, you know, hardware).

7:45pm: Mix, mingle, and close out the night. We'll head to a nearby bar after for a night cap.

See you soon!
