Indie RPG Night
Details
WHAT IS THIS EVENT? We gather to play story games and indie RPGs.
These role-playing games are similar to Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) but tend to be shorter, simpler to learn, and more narrative focused.
WHERE AND WHEN IS THE EVENT? We play at BUBS, 102 W Berks (next to the Berks MFL station), every other Wednesday at 6pm.
Please note, BUBS collects $10/person for use of their space.
WHO IS THIS FOR? Anyone can participate, no experience necessary. If you like games and stories, come join!
WHAT GAMES DO WE PLAY? We play a wide variety of rpgs, but the common theme is telling a shared story. Some games have a Game Master who leads the story with the players as their characters, while others may use prompts or cards and share narrative control equally.
Some examples of games we play include:
For The Queen - a fateful journey as part of the queen's retinue
The Quiet Year - create a post-apocalyptic settlement
Brindlewood Bay - old ladies solving murder mysteries
CBR+PNK - dystopian sci-fi crimes
Revolt! - build support to overthrow the monarch
Mouse Guard - mice knights, protecting the realm
Moon's Haunted - a completely normal mission to space
HOW CAN I RUN A GAME? If you'd like to run a game, come talk to me at the start of the event. Please bring any materials needed to play: rules, printouts, notecards or blank paper, tokens, printouts, and so on.
WHAT ARE THE RULES? We try to provide an inclusive space, and do not tolerate harassment or prejudice of any kind, including that based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, or disabilities. We use the X-card and other RPG communication and safety tools.
