Activity: Want to study and practice speaking? Then come out to our meetup on June 13th and bring whatever topics, grammar, vocabulary you are currently studying in Korean or English! We will also share a suggested list of Korean/English phrases for everyone to practice while we meet. You can see the list below!
Conjunctions for connecting phrases/sentences:
- 그리고 – And, and then
- 그래서 – So, therefore, as a result
- 하지만 – But, however (used for contrasting)
- 결국 – Eventually, in the end, finally
- 그래도 – Even so, still
- 대신에 – Instead of
- 그리고 나서 – And then, after that
- 그 후에, 그 뒤에 - After that
- 그런데 – By the way, but, however (used for changing the topic or giving additional information)
- 그 외에도 – Besides, moreover
- 그렇다면 – If that’s the case, in that case
- 게다가 – Moreover, in addition
- 어쨌든 – Anyway, in any case
- 왜냐하면 – Because, the reason is (used when explaining reasons)
- 하지만 – But, however (for a contrast or disagreement)
- 그렇지만 – But, however (used for contrast)
- 이와 같은 – As such, in this way
- 그와 달리 – Unlike that, in contrast
- 반면에 – On the other hand
- 그러니까 – So, that’s why
- 왜냐하면 – Because, the reason is (to explain a cause)
- 결국 – In the end, eventually
- 그럼에도 불구하고 – Nevertheless, despite that
- 반대로 – On the contrary
- 일단 – Once, first of all
- 아니면 – Or, if not
- 따라서 – So, as a result
- 그때 – At that time, then
- 어떤 경우에는 – In some cases
- 여러분이 아시다시피 – As you all know
- 그 외에 – Besides that, other than that
- 만약에 – If, in case
- 또 – Also, too
- 또는 – Or (alternative)
- 혹은 – Or (alternative)
- 또한 – Also, in addition
- 아니면 – Or, if not
