Cross platform applications with Scala Native

Details
Scala Native allows us to compile Scala code to native executables. One issue that's slowed its adoption is the lack of libraries that provide familiar Scala APIs that abstract over low level details like network sockets. This has recently changed as a result of the Typelevel stack cross-building for Scala Native, providing networking, HTTP, database access, and more. In this talk, we'll explore Scala Native and some sample applications using the Typelevel stack.

He's also the author of the second edition of Functional Programming in Scala ("the red book"). Michael's an Engineering Fellow at Comcast where he works on video systems.
Venue and Food Sponsor: Pinnacle 21
At Pinnacle 21, employees know they are building something meaningful. The company’s industry-leading clinical data standardization platform streamlines the drug approval process, ultimately getting medications in the hands of patients faster. With its products already in use by the FDA, and industry-wide by biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, Pinnacle 21 is continuing its work to shrink the clinical trial process, as well as looking to build new products outside of its niche in standardization.
