philly.NET was accepted into a pilot program with the Microsoft Teams product team. We have a full Teams license for any member interested in participating. This license will be assigned to an account at firstname.lastname@msftcommunity.com. To get this account, you need to accept the Microsoft Teams terms of service and login to the Teams desktop client or the web interface. Please look for an email from the Teams Creation Service Account.
The email notice only goes out to folks that subscribe to our mailings. If you do not subscribe, add that to your settings for this Meetup group. If you prefer, you can reply to this message with your email address.
Once you are logged in, you will see the philly.NET Team and a series of channels. During the hands-on presentation, we will explain how this can be used to conduct future labs, meetings, and code camps. This is a very collaborative environment and you will be encouraged to participate. Video is optional but audio is highly recommended.
All the discussions and the video recording are saved for each channel meeting. We will show you how to access them in the future.
Our goal this week is to test meeting presentations and live collaboration. Rob will do some tricks and tips for VS Code. We will answer questions live, show you how to share code snippets, use a whiteboard, message with @mentions, and detail various ways to work with content in Teams.
Your new Teams client can be used to access channel content, chat, hold impromptu meetings, access files, etc.
This meetup will be recorded and appear on our YouTube channel at
