Blue Marsh Lake Border Trail (easy/moderate)
Details
7 miles of rolling Berks County countryside. Experience the woods, fields, trails and a lake of the Philadelphia hinterlands. Blue Marsh Lake is the center of miles of hiking and biking trails which ring the reservoir. The lake is a popular fishing and boating destination, and a stop for birds and other wildlife. You'll get a chance to view it all as we walk along the shores of the lake and through the nearby woods and fields.
This is an easier 7 mile hike over rolling countryside terrain. There are ups and downs but none are particularly steep or long. The trail is an easy footpath in most places. There can be mud in spots especially after rain. Wear appropriate footwear for trail walking.
We will be meeting up at 9am in the Blue Marsh Trail-Spring Creek trail access parking area off Brownsville Rd. (1175 Brownsville Rd, Wernersville, PA 19565). Make sure to be there by 9am. Once we start I will not be able to check my phone.
