Birdsboro Waters Loop (easy/moderate)

Details

Stay in the shade while we hike through the Birdsboro Preserve and French Creek State Park. French Creek State Park is centered around Hopewell Furnace, a colonial era iron furnace surrounded by wooded, low hills and quiet lakes. Birdsboro Preserve is immediately to the west, along Hay Creek and the Birdsboro Reservoir. A popular rock climbing location can also be found here in a disused quarry. Together the two parks contain many miles of multi-use trails to explore.

Meet up at 9:00am at the end of Old PA Route 82, Hay Creek Rd. We are starting from the west side of the park NOT the parking lot for the quarry and rock climbing (there are two ends of old Hay Creek Rd). Make sure to arrive on time as once we start I will not be able to check for anyone arriving late.

This is an easier/moderate 6 mile loop hike with around 700ft of vertical gain. We start with a short hill climb and then will take a leisurely walk around the rest of the preserve. Make sure to wear appropriate footwear as the trail is rough and rocky in places. As always bring extra calories and water to get you through the day.

Hike will cancel from severe weather.
