Hawk Mtn. Kempton, PA. (Difficult)

Details
As the world's first refuge for birds of prey, Hawk Mountain Sanctuary has a dramatic history that started during the Great Depression with amateur ornithologist Richard Pough. While Pough was a recent college graduate living in Philadelphia, he became one of a growing number of conservationists opposed to the widespread movement to eradicate wildlife predators, including predatory birds.
The views from Hawk Mountain offers beautiful vistas and great looks at raptors, some of the largest and most charismatic birds in the world.
This will be a invigorating 6 Mile loop taking in all of the grandeur the mountain has to offer, from the various lookouts, to the boulder field and a challenging rock scramble - there's a lot to take in.
This is a Rocksylvania Hike with Toe biters and Ankle turners.
There will be a 600 foot rocky descent on the River of Rocks Trail.
Also with a 800 foot rocky climb on the skyline trail, this is a difficult trail and includes 4-point rock scramble, the amount of rock scrambling can make this a challenge to traverse, but do able for the intrepid hiker.
