PA AT Totts Gap to Wolf Rocks (moderate/difficult)
Details
Cross off some more miles on the Appalachian Trail in Pennsylvania.
This hike following the crest of the Blue Mountain ridge from Totts Gap to Wolf Rocks will introduce you to all of PA's many sizes and shapes of rocks. Along the way we'll stop at Lunch Rocks and Wolf Rocks offering fine views south over lower Delaware Valley and north towards the Poconos, respectively.
We will complete a 10 mile route using the Appalachian Trail and looping around the Wolf Rocks bypass trail. These trails are very rocky. This will be a moderate to more difficult hike depending on your fitness level. We will gain around 1000 feet of elevation across all the little ups and downs but the most difficult aspect of this hike will be the rocks. Wear appropriate footwear and bring some extra calories and plenty of water.
Parking will be at the Totts Gap AT Trailhead, 1232 Totts Gap Hill Rd, Stroudsburg, PA 18360 (40.95083726744444, -75.16397941255634). We start at 9:30AM. Make sure you are on time. Once we start hiking I will not be checking my phone for anyone arriving late.
Hike will cancel from severe weather.
