About Saudade
Saudade is a celebration and a remembrance of living ten years abroad. Saudade is looking
back to the roots, looking at the path of transformation, of becoming and being a guitarist.
Saudade is a Portuguese word that roughly translates to ‘melancholic longing’, but saudade is
not looking at the past and wishing for the return of the old days. Saudade is atemporal.
Saudade is a cultural representation for Brazilians, saudade is an identity, and more
importantly, saudade is an expression of love.

About Anna Leone
Anna Leone is one of the most prized guitarists conof her generation in Brazil. Performing as a
soloist throughout Brazil, USA and Finland. Anna has also participated on TV and radio
concerts back in Brazil, focusing most of her repertoire to Latin American and Spanish
classical music. During music competitions in Brazil, USA and Europe, Anna has received
over twelve prizes along the years. She has double master degrees in music performance, one
by Sibelius Academy (FI) and one by James Madison University, and she is currently
finishing up a music doctorate degree at Stony Brook University, with the mentorship of
Dieter Hennings. Anna Leone is an active soloist and chamber musician performer and a part
of the Augustine Strings Artists.
