Dinner and discussion: "Transhumanism"

Details

Transhumanism

Transhumanism is a philosophical movement that advocates using science and technology to enhance human capabilities, overcome biological limitations like aging and disease, and ultimately transform the human condition to achieve superlongevity, superintelligence, and superhappiness.

We have now as a species realised that benchmark of being transhuman, previously our technological advancements have been external augmentations that have interfaced with our external sensed to enhance our capabilities and in many ways help us see and hear parts of our reality that are hidden to us otherwise, however there are now over ten people who have had surgical augmentation that directly interfaces to our nervous system and in some cases our brains

In this discussion we will explore

  • What is Transhumanism
  • Are we ready as a species for the possibilities of possibly becoming superhuman
  • What are the downsides of possibly creating larger class states between non augmented and augmented humans
  • What role will Artificial Intelligence play in this

If your interested in exploring what exactly is Transhumanism, what it's guiding principles are, how it came about, what it has to offer and explore its relevance today come along on the 24 Sept at 6pm for what is always a deep and enjoyable discussion on philosophical matters in a relevant modern way.
