"Carl Jung - The Collective Unconscious"

"The collective unconscious, a concept coined by Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung, is the deepest layer of the human psyche. Unlike the personal unconscious, which is formed by individual experiences, the collective unconscious is genetically inherited and shared by all human beings. It contains universal behavioral patterns and ancestral wisdom known as archetypes."

There is a popular ideas in the self development realm that say's that only 10% of or daily behaviour is consciously contrived and that the rest is the result of unconscious conditioning.

What is this unconscious patterning or condition that allegedly rules our lives, just how much of it influences who we think we are as opposed to who we potentially could be? just how much does it rule society and our individual acts in the world?
Did Jung mean collective as in the individual experience or was he also figuratively suggesting the unconscious of all of society?

In this discussion we will be exploring Carl Jung's work on the "Collective Unconscious" and delving deeply into what he might have meant an how it effects the world we inhabit.

I look forward to seeing you and sharing your wisdom as we explore this interesting subject.

Steve :)
