### Navigating the Collapse of a Familiar World

### (Ontological Destruction, or Many Confused Austrians)

#endoftheworld

At some point, we all experience a sense of alienation from the world around us. But certain moments in history seem to bring profound, objective disruption. Is that merely a feeling, or does something deeper shift? How do we distinguish between the routine dislocations of life and a true transformation of the world itself? And, as human beings in search of meaning, how do we navigate the collapse of the worlds we once knew?
(We might also mention some notable but confused Austrian thinkers and how they navigated changes.)

This month's session will be facilitated by one of our members.
Cedric spent 25 years running high-sensitivity investigations in the business and political realms, and he was one of the pioneers of open-source intelligence gathering in China. Later his work focused on identifying organisations involved in slave labour and genocide. Today he is trying to find some answers in philosophy.

The Philosopher’s Hat Club invites you to don your thinking cap and join a fun, facilitated online conversation about our world and interesting ideas. We meet monthly to make philosophy accessible and engaging — no prior knowledge is needed, just curiosity!

Membership gives free access to all online events. Sign up with a free trial and learn more about us at Creative Together.
