Let’s meet and talk about how Aesthetics intersects with Moral Theory. Both of these disciplines fall under the general philosophical category of Axiology, which is the study of Value. The big question of Axiology is “What is the Good? Ethics asks: “What is Right?” Aesthetics asks: “What is Beautiful?” There are common issues between the two, such as whether these values are relative or absolute (subjective or objective). But is there something moral about aesthetics? Is there something beautiful about morality? How do both areas relate to the question: “What is Good?”

I think our discussion will be both intriguing and fruitful, with everyone’s input. Thanks, Chris, for the topic idea!

Snacks and drinks provided. Hope to see you on the 3rd!
