For our first meetup, we’ll be reading and discussing short selections from Enchiridion by Epictetus.
The Enchiridion is a brief, practical handbook focused on everyday questions: what’s in our control, what isn’t, and how we might respond more wisely to the world around us. We’ll read small excerpts together and simply ask what Epictetus was trying to understand—and whether his ideas still apply today.
This is not a lecture, debate club, therapy group, or religious study. It’s an informal, open discussion centered on original source material, curiosity, and respectful listening.
I’ll provide discussion prompts and share links to the text for anyone interested, but showing up is enough.
☕ Coffee encouraged
🪑 Please bring your own chair for comfort (the seating in the outdoor classroom does not have back support)
