Is there an appropriate Feminine/Masculine Balance?

Men and women possess qualities that are both, masculine and feminine.
It is said that when we balance the feminine and masculine aspects within ourselves, regardless of being male or female, we get to experience a whole and complete human being that is strong, wise, loving and creative and, at the same time, nurturing and gentle.
It is our nature to embody both masculine and feminine qualities even though in our past history and culture, we have witnessed an over-emphasis on the masculine energies which have dominated and brought us off-balance.
Are we in more need today of embracing the feminine aspects within us all, such as being nurturing and receptive, which, in the past, have been perceived as weak? Have the masculine qualities overtaken in our culture and is this the cause of our state of chronic stress?

Masculine qualities are characterized as being:
action-oriented, focused, assertive, passionate, transforming, stability, protective, supportive.
Feminine qualities are characterized as being:
Receptive, creative, instinctual wisdom, relating, nurturing, compassion, intuitive, empathy.

Do you resonate more with the feminine or masculine aspects of yourself? Do you feel balanced or preferring one over the other?
