Philosophy Roundtable: Feminism
Details
Please join us this Sunday to discuss Feminism and how it plays a role in our lives today.
We will meet at the Captain Melville at 2pm for a 2:15pm start sharp
Please note the new $5 mandatory donation entry fee (cash or transfer on day) to help with MeetUp subscription costs
There is no pre-requisite preparation necessary, nor a philosophical background, all that is required is a curious mind. These discussions are both a Socrates Cafe style discussion and lively metaphysical dojo in the spirit of learning, sharing thoughts and friendly debate. We welcome your self-reflections! In addition feel free to question assumptions and be prepared to have your own assumptions questioned.
This event is also posted to the Socrates Cafe group
Discussion questions:
- Perspectives on the definition of feminism.
- How has feminism evolved over the years?
- What major changes have we noticed within feminist movements in the last few years?
- Perception of feminism - what are the nuanced perceptions of this ideology? What impacts how we think about it?
- What makes this ideology such a contentious one? Understanding opposition to feminism.
Please feel free to also bring additional questions you would like to explore!
Looking forward to unpacking this!
Hope to see you there!
