Philosophical Implications of Quantum Physics
Details
Towards the end of the 19th century, physicists believed that they were closing in on every unsolved problem in physics. A breakthrough or two and all of physics would be solved!
Alas. That's when quantum mechanics appeared, baffling each and everyone, right from the layman to the revered Einstein. It dispeled all our previous assumptions of particles, energy, and frankly all of causality. No one has since claimed that we are close to solving physics.
While it still remains an open field of research, quantum physics is the most successful theory we have. Let us then accept it for what it is, and examine all the philosophical problems it poses - ranging from Ontology to Causality to Consciousness.
