Day of Art & Philosophy – Practical Workshops & Talks

Details

Art has long been a means to express and perceive universal values of beauty and harmony by finding an expression to unite opposites, like light and darkness, sounds and silences or movement and stillness. And the artist, like the philosopher, finds a way to make the invisible visible or perceivable, whether in paintings, sculptures, music, dance, poetry and so much more.
Art is a facet of philosophy as to express beauty outside, we need to find and uncover it within. Art gives expression to the culture of different civilisations and lets us understand their vision of the world and their essence.

Join us for an afternoon with various events to discover more about the strong link between Art and Philosophy.

Programme:
From 2pm: Seeking the Mystery - Painting by Numbers - Famous Paintings

Great artists have created timeless paintings which are admired around the world. Join in to recreate famous masterpieces together and maybe get inspired to go from replicating to creating. (The activity will be ongoing and you can participate for short or longer moments of time.)

From 2.30pm to 4.15pm: Seeking Unity - Making Mosaics Workshop
(€12 contribution for materials, take home your own mosaic!)

From all the individual pieces of tiles there emerges a beautiful unity, each piece is different and contributes to the collective. This is one of the key principles in Mosaic art. Learn more about this and the fundamentals of creating mosaics and how to create basic designs using colourful tiles.
No experience needed—all materials and guidance provided.

At 2.30pm: Workshop "Seeking Harmony" Dance practices & Circular Dances
Dance and circular dances are an ancient, universal language of expressing harmony with oneself and others. We will learn to direct and master the body, following music and rhythm with creative exercises. Through circular dances we can experience deeper and traditional ways humanity has connected with nature.
No experience needed, just grab your comfy shoes!

At 4.30pm: Seeking Beauty - Talk & Musical Listening of Beethoven's & Mozart's inspirational pieces

Beethoven and Mozart didn’t just write music—they captured something deeper that still speaks to us centuries later. Their works stir our imagination and reach places words can’t. They challenge us to open up, connect, and see the world differently. Join us as we listen and uncover the hidden meaning behind their powerful, timeless pieces.

There will also be refreshments, coffee, tea and snacks.

We look forwards to seeing you there!
