How to Live a Good Life, episode 1: Why a philosophy of life?
Details
Join us for the first of a series of dialogues focused on the recently published "How to Live a Good Life: A Guide to Choosing Your Personal Philosophy of Life," co-edited by Massimo Pigliucci, Skye Cleary, and Daniel Kaufman.
(You can find the book here: https://bookshop.org/books/how-to-live-a-good-life-a-guide-to-choosing-your-personal-philosophy/9780525566144)
The first episode will focus on the broad question: why do we need a philosophy of life in the first place, and what is that, anyway? Future episodes will feature different contributors to the book and discuss specific life philosophies, from Buddhism to Confucianism, from Stoicism to Epicureanism, from Existentialism to Ethical Culture.
Please note that meetup time is Eastern Standard Time (New York). The event may be recorded, so that others may benefit from our discussion after the video gets posted online.
At the beginning of the meeting, please turn off your audio, but keep the video on. This makes for less background noise and a more human interaction (we see each other!).
When you'd like to ask a question, raise your hand using Zoom's tool. When I call on you, turn on your mic and ask the question. Please remember to then turn your mic back off.
Also, during the event I will be busy and not able to monitor the chat, so see above if you'd like to ask a question.
