Moral Virtues for the Modern World

Associated as they are with old-fashioned Christian values such as chastity and abstinence from alcohol, talk of cultivating virtuous character has fallen out of favour in these modern times. With the rise of Donald Trump and other demagogues, Leslie Allan proposes that a focus on moral character is as important as ever. Which virtues ought we cultivate in ourselves and others? Allan suggests six virtues for special consideration as being particularly suited to the times we are in. Which virtues would you add or subtract from Allan's list? Come and join the discussion.
