This presentation invites the audience into a clear-headed, humane and quietly radical way of thinking about philosophy, language and everyday confusion. Rather than treating philosophy as a hunt for grand theories or final answers, Dr Steve Parker reframes it as a practical activity aimed at freeing us from the traps our own words can set. Through vivid examples, thought experiments and a contrarian reading of Ludwig Wittgenstein’s work, Steve explores how many of our deepest disagreements and anxieties arise not from reality itself, but from how language is used, misused and over-extended. Participants will be encouraged to notice hidden assumptions in familiar questions, recognise category mistakes and become more attentive to context, purpose and human need. This is not a technical lecture for specialists, but an accessible, reflective journey with real-world relevance to ethics, spirituality, debate and peace of mind. Expect clarity without simplification, depth without dogma, and a refreshing invitation to think less rigidly, speak more carefully and let go of problems that never truly needed solving.
