Philosophy Salon Hamburg

For this event, we will have a movie discussion -- 'After the hunt'.
This movie confronts the fragile boundary between truth and perception, justice and harm, silence and responsibility. Join us for a guided conversation examining how moral certainty fractures under pressure—and what remains when clarity is demanded but unavailable. Welcome to bring your questions and thoughts to the discussion!

Here are some potential questions to discuss:
•⁠ ⁠Does the film present an objective truth — or only competing versions of reality?
•⁠ ⁠Can one be morally right while still causing destruction?
•⁠ ⁠Where is the line between justice and moral violence?
•⁠ ⁠Does intellectual or social status entail greater ethical responsibility?
•⁠ ⁠When is silence a form of complicity — and when is it self-preservation?
•⁠ ⁠To what extent is a character’s identity a personal choice, and to what extent a reaction to accusation?
• What happens when society demands a clear, unambiguous stance?
• Is it possible to remain whole while inhabiting moral uncertainty?

Strategies may help the discussion:
1.Please try to answer the question or ask a more fundamental one, rather than substitute with something else.
2.Please state your point first then support it by examples/explanations. We try to stick to the main topic, if you have many ideas/examples we can talk after the event :)
3.We try to let people finish the statements. However, if you talk too long without clear main points, we will intervene.
!!! You are kindly asked to sign up for events, or at least let hosts know before you come. You will be kicked out from the group after 3 times attending without registration.
