Directional thinking and Diversional thinking? What are they? (Philosophy)

Details
Rahul Jandial cites two forms of thinking, both directional and diversional. Directional thinking constitutes the part of the brain used in mundane tasks, called the executive function that resides in the prefrontal cortex. The other section of the brain where diversional thinking happens from is the cerebrum. (Apologies if I don't get the technical jargon 100%, I'm reciting from what I picked up from watching some YouTube clips, which may not be always the best source and my memory may not have it technically sound).
Rahul went on to say that it is the cerebrum that lights up during the night, that dreams are purely coming through in the form of diversional thinking. During the daytime, it is the prefrontal cortex that is predominantly being used, during the carrying out of the usual mundane tasks of daily living.

So which form of thinking is better?
Is diversional thinking more aligned with intuition?
To think optimally during the day in our meditations, could we benefit from more diversional thinking?
If so, how would we foster the optimal situation to apply diversional thinking? How would we know that we are applying that?
Is using directional thinking in our meditations limited? Can this be why meditations can seem to go nowhere?
What is productive thinking? Richard Rose said that he used "productive thinking", that is how he meditated (Not fully sure that it was his sole meditation practice, but he did talk about this as being important for him).
Again what do you think about thinking, this very most important aspect of our experience that is very intimate to each and everyone of us?

Here are some notes catching up on the last meeting:
- Are you a hoarder? Is being a hoarder of stuff an activity that is the antithesis of someone who is on a spiritual path?

Check out the "What we are about" section in the groups' main page for some guidelines we work to adhere to. Meetings are run on the popular Zoom platform. Please contemplate the topic in advance of the meeting to get the best out of it and bring your views and convictions to the meeting, if possible have a pen and paper close by to record anything useful that may come up that you resonate with on the night, little things you may want to contemplate further.
