Today's meeting we will look at the concepts of "becoming" and "learning". Here is a video from Richard Rose talking about this topic: https://tinyurl.com/22rx8ajl

Here are some quotes that I find stand out to me from the above video:

"I learned that the human being, in the line of philosophy or psychology, you do not learn, and I realised that what happens is that the vehicle has to change, in other words you become, you do not learn".

Jesus: "I am the truth, the way and the life".

"Why didn't he say "I have the truth?" Why didn't he say "I know the truth?" There is a distinct reason for him saying "I am the truth" because he didn't learn it, he was it".

"So I realised at the age of 21 that any of the realisations that I would have to have, anything that I would gain, I wasn't going to get from a book; I was going to get from a change of being. So I set about trying to wrassle myself into that change of being".

Here are some other quotes that stood out to me from the other videos related to the same talk:

"Success means achievement without regret".

"In the process of education there is a transmutation of that energy which could go in sixteen other directions if they weren't in the classroom".

"Civilisation was built upon the transmutation of glandular energy". "Civilisation is the opposite of swinging through the trees". "Thought pulls the energy up, concentration pulls the energy up".

".... I think they run the chance because the fragmentation of their attention, they run a tremendous chance of somehow having regret down the road".

"If you keep your attention on something, you'll eventually become an expert".

"It takes specific people to open up little doors in your head, what opens one man's door may not open another".

"The magnificent obsession was the idea of doing things without any objective, no ambition, no particular motive; but just doing things, knowing that somewhere along the line the balance will come that what was due to you will come to you".

"To be a runner you gotta get out and run, to be a thinker you gotta think and to accumulate a tremendous lot of wisdon you've gotta do a lot of accumulation, that's the becoming process".

Check out the "What we are about" section in the groups' main page for some guidelines we work to adhere to. Meetings are run on the popular Zoom platform. Please contemplate the topic in advance of the meeting to get the best out of it and bring your views and convictions to the meeting, if possible have a pen and paper close by to record anything useful that may come up that you resonate with on the night, little things you may want to contemplate further.
