Richard Rose pulled many of the concepts from Gurdjieff that he used to discuss about philosophy. Gurdjieff's concepts were an important part of the language that Rose developed in expressing about the nature of reality as he saw it. One such topic was "The Ray of Creation". It is pointed to that our source is projecting this ray and to get back to our source, our work is to retraverse the ray of creation all the way back to Source. Rose said we do this by backing away from the untruth, and keep backing away from untruth until all that is left is real.

But what is the Ray of Creation really? Can we get a logical conceptual structure of this to work with? Robin Bloor tries to do just that in his new book: Gurdjieff's Hydrogens Volume 1: The Ray of Creation by Robin Bloor: Compare Prices on New & Used Copies | Alibris . This part of Gurdjieff's philosophy was always very vague to me. I'm in the process of reading the book to see if Robin Bloor can shake me up a bit and maybe get a more concrete sense of this concept.

Join on the night to question this idea and share any of your feeling sense on this subject. The underlying assumption here is that God is projecting through the aether this descending ray of energy/life force. I get the sense that the implication here for spiritual growth is that we ascend this projected ray, or is that just far fetched sophisticated thinking on the part of a deluded seeker's mind? Does it have any practical implication?

I get the feeling as I delve into this book and this topic in general that there may be some more future meetings on this topic. It feels super important to flush out, like obviously something has to be behind matter that "animates" it? Something has to be the life force behind material, organic matter and sentient beings? Where does that something come from? What is the difference between the life force behind organic matter and the life force behind sentient beings? Is it one and the same or different?

Check out the "What we are about" section in the groups' main page for some guidelines we work to adhere to. Meetings are run on the popular Zoom platform. Please contemplate the topic in advance of the meeting to get the best out of it and bring your views and convictions to the meeting, if possible have a pen and paper close by to record anything useful that may come up that you resonate with on the night, little things you may want to contemplate further.
