The next Philly Net Tuesday will be on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at the Friends Center, 1501 Cherry Street. Doors open at 6:00 PM, and the program will begin promptly at 6:30.
Are you concerned with the security of your organization's data? Your sensitive employee, client, volunteer or donor information could be highly vulnerable, along with your reputation and future. While high-profile data leaks dominate the headlines, many data breaches occur at the small organization / small business level.
Join us on January 7, 2014 for an evening devoted to your organization's security. Austin Morris Jr. of Morris Risk Management LLC will discuss cyber-security, including these topics:
• Strong passwords
• Botnets, Viruses, Worms, Trojans
• Malicious code
• Phishing
• Social engineering attacks
• Protecting your data against malicious employees, negligence, and mistakes
• Preparing for a data breach, usually not if but when
• Forensics, notification, monitoring, legal guidance
• Security and privacy (cyber liability) insurance
• PA State Notification Laws
This session is relevant for every organization, and ideal for orgs that engage in e-commerce or deal with sensitive healthcare, employee, client or member information.
“Nearly 60% of small businesses will shutter within half a year after being victimized by cybercrime.” (The Wall Street Journal - March 2013)
This session won't be recorded or live-streamed, so be sure to come in person.
RSVP’s are appreciated for planning purposes (though not required).
Thanks to the American Friends Service Committee (http://afsc.org) for sponsorship.
