September Meeting

The next meeting of the Philadelphia Oracle Users Group will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2014 from 5:30 to 9:00 PM at the Penn State Great Valley School of Graduate Professional Studies. Located at 30 E. Swedesford Road, Malvern, PA 19355. There will be several presentations, general discussion, refreshments and opportunities to meet and discuss Oracle technology with your peers.

Rich Niemiec, world renowned Oracle Expert and Oracle ACE Director will be presenting on Oracle 12c New Features, Big Data and the Internet of Things

This presentation will focus on Oracle direction and specifically 12c New Features, Big Data and IOT (Internet of Things). We will look at 12c new features like the In-memory Database, Pluggable Databases, Multiple indexes on the same Column, Partial Indexes for Partitioned Tables, Security Enhancements, and Other 12c New Features. Topics will also include a Big Data Overview, GFS and MapReduce early days, Hadoop, HDFS, and MapReduce in Open Source, NoSQL Databases, The Oracle Big Data Solution, Oracle Hadoop Data Loader and IOT.
