The A* algorithm is an optimization of Dijkstra's algorithm, which is a pathfinding algorithm used to find the shortest distance between two nodes. Typically this algorithm is used in both real world and videogame maps.

The first hour of this event will be composed of a short presentation introducing and explaining the algorithm followed by a demo of the algorithm at work. Attendees are encouraged to discuss and ask questions throughout the presentation.

The last half hour of the event is for open discussion and for members to chat and exchange ideas or talk about the computing industry or their personal projects.
