OLD LOGGERS BACKPACK

I have not done this trail for many years. I always thought it was one of the nicest trails in Pennsylvania and look forward to a return trip. This will be a 27 mile loop with roughly 10 miles day 1 and 2 plus 7 miles on day 3. We will do the hike counterclockwise.

Day 1: Packs on at 9:30.
We will start the hike at Masten CCC Campground on Masten Road. You can camp here the night before to save yourself a very early start. Its a 5 hour drive from NE Ohio. I will either camp here or get a hotel room in Williamsport depending on the weather. I plan to stop for lunch by Rock Run which is one of my favorite spots. Camp for the night will be along Doe Run.

Day 2: First part of the day will be level and then we have a descent by Long Run. We cross Masten Road and Pleasant Stream (boots off). A steep climb takes us to Sharp Top Vista. A steep descent leads us to our camp for the night.

Day 3: 7 miles back to the cars.
