Apple fritters, apple fritters, apple fritters. The only place to get the apple fritters voted # 1 east of the Mississippi (by my wife) is at the Morrison Campground on the Allegheny Reservoir. A club tradition carried over from the NEOH backpacking club, this is a time to renew old acquaintances and meet some new members.

Getting to the event is easy. A 5 mile hike in from the Morrison Rimrock trail head on SR59 (41.82057, -78.94631), or a 1 mile float in from Elijah Run Boat launch (41.81891. -78.94631), located across the lake from the campground. The Morrison Campground will hold a lot of people, so there is no limit on attendees and guests are welcome. It is a fee area ( $12.00/ day ) but each site will accommodate several tents so cost can be shared. All who attend will need a waiver on file or they will be available at the campsite. This includes guests.

Friday, October 2nd:( OPTIONAL ) I plan on paddling in from Elijah Run boat launch in the evening before dark. The lake is usually calmer that time of day. Any one who wants to come over by boat, I'll probably be at the launch at 5:30. Any one wanting to hike in, you are certainly welcome to do so.

Saturday October 3rd: 10 am- Meet at the trail head on SR 59. Hike in using any of the three trails you want. New backpackers or those not familiar with the trails, hook up with an experienced backpacker to come in. Please bring an apple to be used for the fritters.

Apple Fritters will be served between 5:30 and 6:30.

Sunday, October 4th: Head out at your leisure.

Only wood in the fire, alcohol in moderation, down wind smoking, leave your politics home. Leashed dogs are welcome.
