Join us for a summer morning of birding up on the Mogollon Rim at Woods Canyon Lake! This area offers a beautiful mix of forest and lake habitat, with great opportunities to spot a variety of rim and high-elevation species.

We’ll meet at the Woods Canyon trailhead and head out for a ~1.2-mile walk. The route follows varied terrain that is generally flat, but includes some uneven surfaces—please check the Komoot link for full trail details and come prepared with appropriate footwear.
We’ll move at a relaxed pace, stopping often to look and listen for birds. As always, you’re welcome to stay for part or all of the time.

🕘 Time: 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM
📅 Date: Saturday, August 15
📍 Location: Woods Canyon Lake Trailhead

Carpooling options will be coordinated as we get closer to the event, feel free to indicate if you’re interested in riding or driving.
Bring water, sun protection, and binoculars if you have them. Looking forward to birding with you on the Rim! As we get closer, we will pick a spot to meet up for lunch near Payson on the way back.
