What we’re about
I’ve recently taken up knitting again as a healthy distraction from the incoming WH administration. I learned how to knit in January 2017 but then set it aside in 2021. I retook a knitting for beginners class a few weeks ago and thought it may be nice to connect with other queer/LGBT+ fiber artists (of any skill set) around the Valley. We could meet up at local cafes/coffee shops to stitch together, chat, socialize, commiserate on topics like US politics, etc. This would also be a great opportunity to learn from one another, from a fiber artistry perspective as well as from life in general. I’ll organize the outings and you’ll just show up with your fiber art supplies to work on projects that you like. Perhaps we can even collaborate on craftivist projects. The possibilities are endless. Hope this sounds like an interesting idea to other queer/LGBT+ people around Phoenix.
