Makers seeking makers (all skill levels), partners, sponsors, volunteers, and other interested parties. A new 22,500-square-foot makerspace, PHOENIX FORGE, is available to the community in downtown Phoenix at 535 W. Van Buren. This community makerspace will provide the public and students with access to tools and equipment for metalworking, woodworking, rapid prototyping, electronics/robotics, jewelrymaking, and other forms of art and fabrication. GateWay Community College, on behalf of the Maricopa County Community College District, in partnership with Arizona State University, the City of Phoenix, The US Economic Development Administration, and APS, have built this makerspace so that you can unleash your inner artist, engineer, or entrepreneur and become part of a creative community. Ever wondered what goes on at Phoenix Forge? Join us on June 20th at 6PM-8PM to explore the makerspace and get hands-on in some of our most popular work areas.
This month we’re opening up the wood shop for you to make a customized wooden bookmark! Visitors will be able choose from a variety of wood species to assemble the bookmark, then head to the laser cutter and add a unique message.
Sign up on our website to RSVP! Supplies will be limited, but we’ll make sure you get a chance to make something.
