WHAT THIS IS: This is a group intended to connect people across the Valley who share an interest in social nudism and non-sexual nudity. This group is open to all ages, races, religions, genders, sexual orientations, and bodies. Whether you’re a practicing nudist, someone who only gets dressed at home when they have to, or a first-timer, the hope is this group will let you explore that interest and make friends with others exploring non-sexual nudity.
WHY: Well, besides the fact that it’s fun, getting naked with others is good for your health. No, seriously! Stripping with others can lead to a more positive body-image. Studies have shown that participation in nudism correlates with improved body image, self-esteem, and overall life satisfaction. Plus, have you ever realized how silly it is having to wear a bathing suit while swimming?
WHAT WILL YOU DO: I envision this group starting as meet-ups at our local nudist club, Shangri La Ranch in New River, where there are swimming pools and hiking trails. Other events could be a visit to Mira Vista Resort in Tucson or the El Dorado Springs. The growth and success of this group will largely determine if private events (at private venues) could become possible in the future.
WHAT THIS IS NOT: Nudity ≠ sex. Naked bodies ≠ sexual. This is not a swingers group. This group is meant to be a safe space for open-minded humans to practice social nudity. While that does involve being naked, it isn’t sexual and shouldn’t be perceived as such. Anyone behaving in a way that makes others uncomfortable will be asked to leave an event, and removed from the group.
